Duties:
  • Reports to the Director of Athletics
  • Coaches, recruits and schedules the Volleyball Program
  • Provides leadership and instruction in the academic, personal and athletic development of student athletes
  • Effectively creates and implements an approved recruiting plan for Atlantic and Cape May County high schools
  • Provides support and referral regarding team members in academic and personal matters
  • Consults with college administration for resolution of problems
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of the volleyball staff to include planning, organizing and coaching of the Atlantic Cape volleyball team
  • Ensures compliance with College, Garden State Athletic Conference and N.J.C.A.A. polices and regulations
  • Prepares travel and accommodation arrangements as necessary
  • Studies, evaluates and implements innovations in volleyball strategy and equipment
  • Maintains accurate statistical data for games and inputs into required databases
  • Travels with the team (drives van) to all away games and tournaments.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred.
  • Intercollegiate level and/or high school volleyball coaching experience required.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA and NJCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • The ability to organize and manage all components of a collegiate volleyball program.
  • Ability to effectively recruit student-athletes.
  • Possession of a valid NJ driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in person.
  • Must possess or obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Must attend scheduled departmental meetings 4 to 6 times per year.
